Hi, I am Hardik Kedia,
I am currently pursuing my Btech from JECRC University in specialization with mechanical engineering (final year). I am a sort of typical engineering candidate who love to explore the opportunities and the Idea Factory is among the massive one which gave me the entirely different perspective of how things work in the industries.
I got to know about this competition from LinkedIn and the topic I received is Predictive Maintenance which is one of the hottest topics towards which whole tech industry is inclining. I found it as an amazing learning opportunity and is willing to explore it at its best.
I registered myself and first challenge is to write thesis about the project. I did go through all the research papers and find out the current industry progress in this field then I took some guidance from one of my faculty members and then find out the way of connecting the machines with various sensors to predict its real time conditions.
I wrote my thesis and it got selected heading me towards the second challenge i.e. preparing the presentation to give the realistic view to my project. I successfully did that and got selected for my presentation in front of CEO, “Mr. Rohit Saboo”.
Now its time to implement everything I had in mind but the major concern was data. I collected the dataset from Microsoft ML Studio and programmed it according to my need and for the real time data. I used sensors like SW420 (Vibration sensor), DHT11 (Temp sensor) connected it with Adafruit.io (i.e. cloud service) via various protocoling networks. Deployed real time graph of data and done with the prediction with desirable accuracy.
Finally, on D-day everything went well and I stood runner-up and received the check of 40k from CEO along with an overwhelming internship opportunity in this domain from NBC Bearings.
At the end I want to thank the organisation for giving me this life changing opportunity which made me learn to face the challenges and to explore them at its best.
